Our Painful Road Pt. 1 (w/ Roman Rincon)
There’s sweat in my eyes, burning as much as my heart’s flames,
Why whine and cry when no one can see this sharp pain,
Would be so much easier to quit and just play other games,
But I don’t want this pit of self-doubt to remain,
So here I am with the ball in my hand, shouting all sorts of names,
They’ve heard enough talk, tired of waiting for my move,
Wrote me off as weak when I know in my heart, I am strong,
They haven’t seen all the hard work I’ve put in to improve,
Let my actions speak, they’ll learn doubting me was wrong,
Same thing I’ve done before, I don’t need them to approve,
I’ve laid the foundation, now it’s time to build myself up,
But I can’t start this journey until I take my first step,
Fuck putting my shoes on, I’m sick of this, fed up,
Feet are cold, but I’m done having cold feet, next step,
I have my setbacks, but like a boxer, I fight to get up,
Know I’m far from my goals, but still work as hard as I can,
Only took a few steps, still not fulfilled, but I did my best,
Today I feel feeble and unworthy, but someday I’ll be the man,
The sweat still stings, as strong as the fire burning in my chest,
I’ve come too far to fail, no more doubt, just stick to the gameplan.
