The Man and The City
You can take the man out of the city
But not the city out of the man
He holds the memories close, so pretty
As tightly as he can
You can’t tell me it wasn’t real
Even if it felt like a dream
Because these moments, I still feel
Caught in the current of my mind’s stream
I can be so far gone
And still see the bright light
Everything here, I’d pawn
For just one more night
I surrender to the sprawl
Accept the pollution I breathe
Waiting patiently, for Fall
So I never have to leave
