Stranded

I’m still stranded on the beach

Trying my hardest to reach

For that hour of fun

With the dark, sandy run

Waves crashed from the sea

It felt healing to me

Made me almost forget

All those years of regret

And when you shared your song

It made me feel like I belong

Looking up into deep space

Wondering how I got to this place

Then my game of lost and found

Made you crumple to the ground

Then we all got in a seat

And went for a bite to eat

On the way, I got to sing

Became a funny recording

A memento of that night

When everything just felt right

And now it’s time

For us to all stand in line

Make an order, take a number

That will satisfy our hunger

We ate and chat, had good vibes

All on the same team, no sides

Felt good to have some friends

But all good things must end

Back to the garage, quick goodbyes

Told the truth, I appreciate you guys

Wished Thursday never came

So our Wednesday night could remain

But we have the memory

Can’t scrape it away like emery

Looking forward to the next time

That I can change my paradigm
